Pricing
OpenSEO is free. You pay YepAPI for the data.
There is no plan to choose. Bring your own YepAPI key and each action is billed by YepAPI at its pay-per-call price. OpenSEO charges nothing and adds no markup.

02Free credits
What $5 covers
New YepAPI accounts get $5 in free API credits. Spent on one kind of action, that is roughly:
about500
page-one rank checks
at $0.01 each
about60
keyword research runs
150 results each, about $0.08
about80
backlink lookups
100 rows each, $0.06
Each figure is an alternative, not a bundle. In practice you will mix actions, and the app shows each price as you go.
03FAQ
Questions about the model
Why is there no subscription?
Because OpenSEO does not sell data. Every number in the app comes from YepAPI, and YepAPI already charges per call. A monthly plan on top of that would mean paying for capacity you may not use.
With your own key you pay for the actions you run. A quiet month costs very little, and a busy one costs what you chose to run.
Where does the money go?
To YepAPI, directly. You create a YepAPI account, add credit there and paste your API key into OpenSEO. Each action is billed by YepAPI to that key at their pay-per-call price.
OpenSEO charges nothing and adds no markup. It never handles your payment.
Can I self-host?
Yes. OpenSEO is open source under the MIT licence. You can run the app, the API and the MCP server on your own machine or server with Postgres. The self-hosting guide in the docs has the steps.
A self-hosted install uses a YepAPI key in the same way, so the per-action prices are the same.
What happens when my credits run out?
Actions that need YepAPI stop working until you add credit to your YepAPI account. OpenSEO cannot top up for you and will not charge you anything.
New YepAPI accounts start with $5 in free API credits. After that you add credit at YepAPI whenever you want to keep going.
How do I know what an action will cost?
The app shows the price of every action before it runs. The table on this page gives examples at YepAPI's prices at the time of writing. YepAPI sets those prices and can change them.
Can I stop an AI agent from overspending?
Yes, in two ways. Every paid tool an agent calls takes a spending ceiling: if the call could cost more, it is refused before anything is spent. And a monthly limit in Settings stops all spending, from you or any agent, once it is reached.
Do Search Console and Analytics cost anything?
No. Google's data is free, and reading it never touches your YepAPI balance. The site audit crawl is free too; only JavaScript rendering is billed.
