Bing Places

Also called Bing Places for Business, Bing business listing

What is Bing Places?

Bing Places for Business is Microsoft’s free tool for businesses to claim and manage their listing in Bing search results and Bing Maps. It works much like Google Business Profile: you add your name, address or service area, phone, hours, website, categories and photos, then verify the listing.

Bing Places lets you import listings directly from an existing Google Business Profile, which makes setup quick for businesses that already manage one.

Why Bing Places matters for SEO

Bing has a smaller share of search than Google, but it powers results in Microsoft products such as Windows search and Copilot, and its index is used by some other search services. A missing or wrong listing means lost customers there.

Setting it up takes minutes once your Google profile is in order, so there is little reason to skip it. It is part of good Bing SEO, alongside verifying your site in Bing Webmaster Tools.

It is also one of the core local citations, so it helps keep your NAP accurate across the web.

How to set up Bing Places

  1. Go to Bing Places for Business and sign in with a Microsoft account.
  2. Import your Google Business Profile, or search for and claim your listing.
  3. Check every field, especially categories and hours, since imports are not always perfect.
  4. Complete verification.
  5. Review the listing occasionally and update it when details change, such as new hours or a new phone number, at the same time as your Google profile.
